Firstly, I’d just like to start off by saying a massive thank you to everyone who supported my previous blog post. I was overwhelmed with the amount of support and private messages I received from people.
We all get down days. The thought of my little platform helping someone else or improving their day fills me with so much happiness – so thank you! If you missed it, you can catch up by clicking here.
Following on from this, I’ve been reflecting on a lot of life decisions recently. I’m feeling positive about taking on new challenges and opportunities that come my way. I’ve got some big things coming up in the next few months (which I’m not allowed to share just yet!) but I’m honestly so excited! Ohhh Lannon you tease haha.
This week also marks the 3 year anniversary since I moved out of my family home and started living independently. This in itself is an incredible milestone for me.
2015 Ross would have never thought he’d be sat here now writing this. I won’t bore you with all the details, but it was a long ol’ process. Back then, I did everything in my power to stop this transition, as moving out was the last thing I actually wanted. I wasn’t ready to become a proper adult… and to be fair, I still don’t think I’m ready today!!
Looking back I can laugh about it now, but the amount of tears and stress I caused myself and those around me was unbelievable. Yes mum, I hate to admit it but you were right…
2018 Ross is a changed man. I love having my own space now. I come and go as I please, I play my music as loud as I want and I get full control of the TV remote – win, win!
Not many people are fortunate enough to be in a position that I was 3 years ago. Having a purpose built bungalow was something I took completely for granted, I literally shut myself off from everything.
Joining a care company and accepting help from someone other than my parents was my biggest issue. Here’s a little piece I filmed a while back for Total Community Care:
I’m so lucky to have such a good support team around me. If it wasn’t for my amazing family and incredible PA’s, none of this would have been possible.
It’s not quite the bachelor pad of dreams… but I’m getting there slowly!
Next step: HOT TUB!
