It’s that time of year again when we make ourselves fake promises that we know will only last a couple of days… if that.
Yes, I’m talking about the “New year, New me” bullshit. I’m guilty of it myself. There’s something about the idea of a “fresh start” that excites me – but in reality it’s just another day isn’t it?!
This year, instead of setting myself standard resolutions, such as:
-Losing weight
-Getting rich
-Finding the love of my life
I’m going to think more positive and set myself some realistic goals for 2018. I want to be able to look back next year and be like: “yep, I did that!”
Here are just a few of the things I wish to achieve this year:
Expand my blog
Since starting this blog, I’ve really enjoyed sharing some of my personal stories and experiences. This year I want to take my blog to the next level and start working with some brands, in order to make disabled bloggers more mainstream.
I’m committed and I want to do my upmost to make this site as professional as possible. I recently made the decision to purchase my own domain name and start featuring ads in order to gain a small income. I’d love to be in a position to one day have this as my full-time job.
Meet new people
Getting out of my comfort zone is probably one of my biggest struggles. If I had the choice, I’d much rather stay at home of an evening than go out on the town. I’m lucky that I already have a great bunch of friends – but I think it would be cool to meet some new faces this year!
I may be slightly awkward but I love a good social experiment, Big Brother sign me up!
I’m starting an evening class at the college soon, so who knows who I’ll meet…
Drink more water
This one may sound a little boring but it’s a really important one for me. After going through hell and back with kidney stones, drinking water is vital in order to maintain my health. I’m conscious that I haven’t been drinking enough fluids recently… and my diet has also slipped back into some bad habits.
Worry less
This may be the most important goal for me this year. I’m a closed book. I’m very private and there’s a lot of things people don’t know about me or my day-to-day life. I may seem confident typing away behind these keys, but like most people, I have my anxieties.
This year, I’m going to make it my mission to stop stressing over the little things and start living my life!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY.
Here’s to making 2018 the best one yet!
