Life Update – Easter Drama, New Friends & Podcast Fun

I wanted to start off today’s blog by saying a massive thank you to everyone for such a lovely reaction to my previous post.

I was unsure whether blogging was even a thing anymore, but to receive so many positive messages regarding my “return” (LOL) has been so sweet!

Anyway… now that the soppy bit is over, let’s get into it!

Ross sat inside a restaurant, smiling down at his table filled with burgers and mac & cheese.

Seen as I have been pretty absent online for the past few months, I thought I would share some of the things I’ve been up to. So if you’re anything like me and enjoy a little nosey into how other people live their lives, then you’re in luck.

Firstly, I’m gonna keep things real with you. Life is not all sunshine and rainbows, despite us generally choosing to share the positive highlights online.

I had the WORST Easter this year. And no, not just because my mum didn’t buy me an Easter egg (still fuming).

I recently came down with a chest infection which completely wiped me out for a few weeks. It’s actually scary how fast it all happened. I won’t bore you with all the details, but falling ill over a bank holiday and forgetting to restock your emergency antibiotic supply is pretty scary.

Who needs an Easter egg anyway when your mum & sister drive for over an hour to the only open pharmacy to save your ass. Love you guys!

As I get older, it certainly gets harder to recover from these things, due to the nature & weakness of my condition. But hey, I’m certainly making up for lost time now, as you will see from my next few updates.

Whilst I was poorly, I unfortunately missed out on attending two shows that I had tickets for – Dear Evan Hanson & Chicago.

Luckily I tend to fill my calendar with shows quite far in advance, as it’s one of my favourite hobbies. So it wasn’t too long until I was back in action enjoying the likes of Only Fools & Horses: The Musical and comedian Paul Smith.

Sitting front row at a comedy roast show probably wasn’t my wisest move… but I somehow managed to escape unharmed!

There is often a negative stigma around meeting people off the internet in real life. (Ok now that I’ve written that down, it does sound kinda creepy, but hear me out!)

I am a great believer in the power of the internet, and over the years I have made some of my closest connections online. I recently got to hang out with a group of friends who I’ve been chatting with online for the past year or so, and it was so nice to finally meet in person!

We had a very social few days, with plenty of good food, games & conversations. Couldn’t ask for more!

I was also recently invited to be a guest on the “Spill The Fizz” podcast – hosted by The Traitors star Diane and Drag Queen legend Beary Poppins.

I had such a good laugh on this podcast, and I just love it when you naturally gel with people.

If you’d like to have a listen, I feature in episodes 9 & 10 via Apple Music or Spotify Podcasts:

In other life news, here are some final important things to note:

• I’ve started watching the Harry Potter films for the first time.

• My LEGO obsession is growing (more to come on that soon!)

• I redecorated my house.

• I also got a warning letter for speeding… in my car, not my wheelchair.

Whoops.
