My 30th Birthday

Call me crazy, but a few years ago I mentioned that I’d like to throw a big party for my 30th birthday… and since then, nobody has let me forget it!

Fast forward a few years and here we are. I am officially part of the 30’s club!

Ross sat in front of circled balloon arch, with a light up Happy Birthday sign

I’d just like to start off by saying a massive thank you to everyone for all the birthday messages online and in person. I have been truly spoilt with kind words and gifts, and it really does mean a lot.

The party involved a lot of planning, but I absolutely loved it! I had the best night celebrating with everyone and made some memories I will never forget.

Check out my highlights video below:

I’ve been known to be a little bit ‘extra’ sometimes, so as you can see from my video… I went all out! You only turn 30 once, right?!

I definitely had a vision for this party and I’m so relieved it all came together. I had the best time dancing the night away, and I really am grateful to all those who celebrated with me.

Welcome to Ross's 30th sign, and a table with drinks labelled "pina co Lannon"

90's inspired cake. Blue icing topped with iced figures of Crash Bandicoot, and the Rugrats

I also just want to give a special shoutout to the Electric Bandits, who I hired as the band for the night. Music is such a massive part of my life and I love a good throwback tune!

If I could re-live it all again now I would.

Instead of uploading a million photos onto Facebook, I thought I would share some of my favourites on here instead.

If anybody would like any copies of the photos they are in, feel free to drop me a message!

And there we have it!! Apologies for the overload of pictures. I will definitely be using this blog post as a way of looking back on all these amazing memories in years to come.

Thank you again to everybody for all your efforts in making it such a special birthday. Even those who couldn’t attend on the night, I know you were there in spirit.

I couldn’t have done it without the help of my family and friends as well. So I just wanted to end on a few special thank you’s:

  • Mum for the amazing spread of food!
  • Dad for being chief barman & overall bad influence.
  • Rose for all the incredible signage & decor.
  • Ali for helping with the bar & keeping dad in check.
  • Little Piggies Cakes for the tastiest cheesecakes.
  • Cathy from The Olive Grove Bistro for the sausage rolls & cupcakes.
"Chocolate explosion" cheesecake, with caramel muffins behind
Lemon & white chocolate cheesecake with fruit behind
  • Laura for the balloon arch feature.
  • Lisa’s Cake Art Cornwall for the fantastic 90’s cake.
  • Karen for the yummy quiche.
  • Gran for the ham!

And to those who stayed until the very end to help with the big cleanup: Wendy, David, Jackie, Jim, Megan, Sonia, David & Liz – thank you!

Here’s to Level 30!
