It's been a while since I've posted anything "foodie" related on my blog, so this week I thought I'd get a little creative...
As I'm on a bit of a health kick at the moment, I thought I'd have a go at making some fruity ice lollies!
I thought these would be a good distraction, as one of my biggest problems in terms of food, is snacking. Before I've even finished my evening meal, I'm already thinking about what's for dessert, or what treats I can find in the cupboard.
Being an "adult" is overrated. I try not to be too strict with my diet, but at times it's tough. Don't you just hate it when you're at the supermarket and chocolate bars accidentally fall in your trolley.
Although the lollies look quite appealing on my Instagram, I can't hide the fact they were disgusting. I think my biggest mistake was buying frozen fruit - standard Ross, taking the laziest route haha. The frozen bags just seemed full of seeds, and honestly left a horrible taste.
The procedure for making them couldn't have been any simpler. All I literally did was pour the fruit into my blender and add some low fat yoghurt. I then left them to freeze overnight in a special mould that I bought from Asda.
Yes they were quick and easy to make, but honestly not worth it. You should have seen me trying to break them out of the mould - that was a workout in itself! On a positive note, I'm glad my blender got some action... poor guy's been collecting dust for the past 12 months!
Overall, the ice lollies may not have gone to plan, but I've not given up on the healthy snacks just yet! Let me know if you enjoyed this style of post, or whether you'd rather see me bake a chunky-ass chocolate cake (because I know what I'd prefer!)
