Catching Covid + Social Life Update

Wow, it's been a while... hey friends!

"Call yourself a blogger Ross, where have you been?!"

It's nearly Christmas! haha.

Ross sat outside at a restaurant in the sun

I will admit that my work/social life balance has been a bit all over the place recently. But I'm determined to get back posting online more often. So please bear with me!

Anyway, how are you? I thought I would ease back into my first post by writing something a little light-hearted.

I got Covid

Ok maybe this isn't quite as light-hearted as I thought...

Yes, after nearly 2 years of shielding, the C-word finally caught up with me. And boy did I feel rough. I'm not a good patient at the best of times, so yeah, it's safe to say I was feeling a bit sorry for myself.

Whilst my chest was probably the biggest struggle, I'm glad I didn't lose any taste or smell. I will forever be a foodie!

On a more 'positive' note, I did manage to catch up on some TV. I finally got round to finishing Stranger Things, whilst also indulging in some Schitts Creek, Encanto and the new Buzz Lightyear film.

I just wanna say a big thank you to all those closest to me, for their daily check-ins and treats left on the doorstep. It really meant a lot.

Boardmasters

Boardmasters may well have been the cause of my Covid... however I still had a great time this year! So I thought I would create this little highlights reel from the day:

Mimi Webb, Sam Ryder & Bastille were definitely the stand-out performances for me. I'm already keen to see what other gigs I can book this year.

Work

Work has definitely been keeping me busy too, which is only fair as I have to fund the social life somehow!

As you may know, I do several freelance bits on the side of my main presenting job. Such as hosting episodes of the 'Living With SMA' Podcast, and writing for Access Cornwall.

Most excitingly, I've also been doing some "background extra" work for a number of TV show dramas! Once I know more information about air dates etc, I will of course share that with you.

Life at CHAOS TV is also going well. Did you see me get pied recently?

You can catch us LIVE online every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 10am - 3pm, on watchchaos.tv

Social Life

Who needs sleep when you're making memories, right?!

I recently saw two shows at the Hall For Cornwall which were both incredible. First up was Adam Kay: This Is Gonna Hurt.

Adam shared entries from his diaries as a former junior doctor, in an evening full of comedy and music. Honestly, I don't think I've laughed like that in such a long time. Adam is a natural entertainer and I came home and ordered his new book straight away!

Up next was SIX - the musical story of Henry VIII's wives. Now on paper this may not sound like my cup of tea... but I absolutely loved it!

Who knew you could actually learn some history whilst enjoying a little sing song?! haha. The atmosphere was just amazing, and the vocal talent was insane... I just had a bloody great time!

I also recently visited Bodmin Jail (which was so cool!) and attended the BBC Radio Cornwall 'Make a Difference' awards as a judge - which was a real honour.

All in all I think it's been a pretty good few months! And I take it back, sleep is actually starting to look a bit more appealing now...

All jokes aside I do have some exciting blog content in the pipeline too, so thank you for reading along and supporting as always!

Speak soon,

Ross x
