The Isolation Diaries (week 2 & 3)

Dear diary,

I'd quite like my social life back now.

Ok thanks, bye.

Seen as you guys seemed to enjoy part 1 so much, I'm back with my second instalment of "The Isolation Diaries"

Dun dun dunnnn.

It's been another VERY productive week *cough cough*

Oops, probably shouldn't cough actually.

So I won't keep you waiting anymore, let's dive straight in!

Tuesday 24th March

In the space of a few days I have managed to binge-watch the entire 'Noughts & Crossess' TV series.

I started off by reading the book first and absolutely loved it (thanks for the recommendation Rae!) I never thought I'd prefer a book over a TV program, but hey, I never thought I'd be stuck in my house for 12 weeks either.

Wednesday 25th March

What a day! The sun is shining and I need to get out the house before the Country goes into complete lockdown.

Whilst maintaining total isolation, I drove to Perranporth beach and parked up in the sun. A change of scenery was exactly what I needed - as nothing beats a sea view. I just wish I had a pasty in hand!

Thursday 26th March

I tried to book an online food shop today. Emphasis on the word TRIED... that's never gonna happen!

8pm soon came around and it was time to clap for the NHS. I actually found this really emotional, whilst sat in my garden, listening to all the cheers.

I have so much respect for everyone working on the frontline right now.

Friday 27th March

I ordered a new shaver online and whilst trying it out for the first time today, I nearly slit my throat.

By accident, may I add.

Saturday 28th March

Today my friend James dropped some butter on my doorstep, which was nice! Not just at random by the way... he did ask if I needed anything.

I really am grateful for all the offers of support I've had from people, from food shops to dog walks. You lot are bloody brilliant!

I've also been getting a little bit creative these past few days, by handwriting some personal messages to friends on the back of a postcard. In times like this, it's the little gestures that can really bring a smile - so I hope it does the job!

Sunday 29th March

Happy Sunday! Today I discovered a new Netflix series called "Love Is Blind" - which I'm already totally addicted to.

Please send help. This also inspired me to rejoin Tinder again... which is a whole other post in itself!

Monday 30th March

Tomorrow is my parents 30th wedding anniversary, so I've decided to get baking! With support from my PA, I've opted to make a 'Jaffa Cake Meringue Pie', after seeing a really cool video online.

Who knew separating egg white and egg yolks was so difficult?!

Tuesday 31st March

Whoops, I may have just given my entire family food poisoning...

Today we did a taste-test and although it may look alright on the outside, I'm pretty sure it's raw in the middle haha.

Mum and Dad appreciated the gesture tho, so that's all that really matters!

Wednesday 1st April

April Fools Day - I can't be the only one waking up today in the hope that this pandemic is all one big joke.

Unfortunately not.

I did however amuse myself today with some personal challenges, such as "how many toilet rolls can I balance on my head?"

The answer is 4 guys.

Thursday 2nd April

Today feels like I've spent most of my day on video calls, but it's been really nice to catch up with various friends.

Man, I miss you guys.

Friday 3rd April

Just when you think things can't get any worse... the internet goes down.

Luckily that was only short lived, as I was back online in time for Active8's "virtual pub night".

Sat at my kitchen table, with my hip flask to hand - it was a good laugh to be fair!

Saturday 4th April

Today Ralph and I spent most of our day doing a puzzle. He did the outer edges whilst I focussed on the middle.

Sunday 5th April

Last night as I was laying in bed, I had an idea to write a parody song.

Yes, you read that right.

This morning I woke up and spent hours writing / recording it. I may even share it with you all next week (should I feel brave enough!)
