Updated Bucket List 2023

Back when I started this blog in 2017, I wrote a Bucket List.

This included goals such as "see Adele live", "buy a puppy" and "become a Big Brother housemate".

Whilst I may not have achieved allllll these targets, I definitely took a big chunk out of them, and for that I am very proud of myself.

A notebook with the frontpage titled "My little book of plans and schemes, by Ross Lannon" positioned next to a cacti candle and fairy lights

Now that I've turned 30, I have decided to write an updated version. As always, I am a realist. So my bucket list will only ever include items that I think are actually achievable.

For example, you shan't see me writing "eat vegetables" because that's just not practical.

So here are 5 new additions, which I am manifesting over the next few years:

Text on a blue background: Visit a Toby carvery

Yes, you read that right. Toby Carvery is at the top of my bucket list. I'm clearly setting the bar high here guys! haha.

All jokes aside, roast dinners are literally my favourite meal and I cannot believe that I've never experienced the famous all-you-can-eat carvery! My nearest Toby is a good 1 hour+ drive away, so it's definitely on my to-do list.

Text on a green background: See The 1975 live

After seeing Adele & Calum Scott, there's not many musicians left on my bucket list that I haven't already seen live.

However, there is one band that I would absolutely love to watch, and that is The 1975. They may be somewhat controversial, but I've loved their music for years now and have yet to have the opportunity to see them perform in person.

I also did try to get tickets for the Taylor Swift Era's Tour recently, but the less said about that the better... *cries*

Text on a red background: Go on a cruise holiday

This is a fairly new addition to my brain, but I've recently started to think about cruise ship holidays. I've heard good things about the accessibility and I'm keen to explore this holiday option in the future.

I went on a short weekend cruise to Belgium when I was younger, but I don't remember much of it if I'm honest. So I would love to experience this again now as an adult.

Text on a purple background: Learn sign language

Sign language is a skill I have talked about learning for several years now, but just haven't got round to doing. Hopefully by writing it down here, it will give me the kick up the bum that I need!

I pride myself on being inclusive and would love to be able to enhance my communication methods. If anyone is aware of any BSL or Makaton courses available, please do let me know.

Text on a yellow background: Go to a proper bingo hall

Ok, don't laugh, but this sounds like a great night out to me! I have never been to a proper Bingo hall, and it's definitely something achievable for my list.

I can just imagine myself sat there - dabber in hand - loving life.

If there was a fancy dress theme too, that would be great!

Text on an orange background: Film a national campaign

Ending my bucket list on a high, I would love to be involved in a National campaign for something.

I'm having visions of my face on the side of a bus, or my wheels projected onto a large billboard in Piccadilly. I'm setting the goal high here... but it's definitely something to aim for.

Knowing my luck it'll end up being for a verruca cream or haemorrhoid treatment hahaha. But we shall see!

So there we have it, that's my updated bucket list for 2023.

I would love to hear some of your future goals too. It doesn't matter how big or small they are, it's always good to have something to aim for!
