With 2017 coming to an end, I thought it would be a nice idea to look back and reflect on some of the things this year has thrown at me.

On the whole, I think this year has been a good one. Blogging has definitely been one of my biggest highlights this year. Not only has it given me confidence – it has allowed me to experience new opportunities and put myself out there more than ever. Most importantly, I’ve learnt to stand up for myself – no pun intended!
To celebrate the new year, I’ve selected a few of my most memorable moments from the past 12 months.
January 2017
On the 19th of January, I was laid out on a theatre table after yet more kidney drama. Not the best way to start a new year, but hey, lets gets the negatives out of the way first!

I have suffered with kidney stones for a couple of years now and this was my 3rd (and hopefully final) attempt at getting rid of the little buggers. I still get the occasional pains, but nothing in comparison to what I’ve been through previously. I recently had an X-ray check up, but I’m still awaiting the results.
February 2017
In February, I decided that I wanted a career in TV. Laugh all you want, but it’s something I’ve always talked/dreamt about. Even if it’s behind the scenes, I would love to one day work within the media. With this in mind, I wrote a letter to the creators of Gogglebox and basically sold my soul…

I couldn’t believe my luck, as within a few weeks/months I had been given three interviews. Unfortunately I never made the final cut, but it’s not something I will ever give up on. Since this, I have been in talks with several other shows and fingers crossed I can share some of that info with you soon!
March 2017
In March, I went away for an adventure weekend away with a group of my best friends. We reminisced from our trip 10 years ago and returned to The Calvert Trust in Exmoor. Within the space of three days, we went canoeing, swimming and biking. We also had great fun on a zipwire swing. Check out my Miley Cyrus wrecking ball impression below:
April 2017
In April, I made the decision to reduce my contracted hours at work. I was becoming increasingly tired and wasteful with my days off. I knew I wanted to maximise my time better and explore my interest in writing. Looking back now, it was the right decision to make.
It was also in April that I started to work on my blog in private. I spent several months playing around with different sites and layouts until I was happy. It wasn’t until June that I shared my first public post. Here is a picture of me dressed as Jesus for Easter – you’re welcome.

May 2017
In May, I donned my suit and became a wedding chauffeur for the day! A few years ago, one of my best friends, Freddie, passed away. When his Mum Emma asked me to pick her up on her big day, I couldn’t have been more proud.
I love a good wedding and to be able to do this for Fred and his family was a real honour. I’ve spent a lot of time at their house over the years, so do you really think I’d miss one of their epic parties anyway?!

June 2017
One of my favourite highlights this year was in June, when I was invited backstage at the Eden Sessions to meet Bastille. I still have to pinch myself now when I think about it. They were such nice guys to hang out with and their gig was as incredible as always. I’m excited to see them perform live again in Bristol, in April 2018.

July 2017
In July, I flew to Corfu on my 24th birthday. It was so nice to get away from the miserable Cornish weather and just completely chill with my family for 10 days. I had great fun on my giant swan and inflatable pretzel.

August 2017
In August, my mum turned 50 and a small BBQ gathering turned into an awesome house party.
In the month leading up to her birthday, my sister and I put together a special video montage to surprise her with on the day. I contacted all her closest friends and family to record birthday messages… and it was honestly epic!

Also in August, my friend Sophie got married and I was one of the witnesses, signing the register at her ceremony.
September 2017
In September, I tested out the new Beach Buggy prototypes on behalf of Cornwall Mobility and Falmouth University. I also got stuck in the mud at the Little Orchard Festival and had my first silent disco experience.

October 2017
On October 1st, I said goodbye to my social life, as little Ralph joined my family. The adjustment was tough at first, but it’s honestly the best decision I’ve ever made – I’m completely obsessed with him. I mean, how can you not love this furry little face?!

November 2017
In November, I was settling well into life with a puppy. After having his injections, it was a great experience talking Ralph out for his first few walks.

I also started my christmas countdown and went to see Elf: The Musical in Plymouth.
December 2017
In December, I went to a 90’s christmas party at The Royal Duchy Hotel in Falmouth. I had a brilliant night with my friends from Active8, despite us being the only table who turned up in fancy dress – typical!! Taking things too far as per usual, I rocked up as Austin powers.

Despite working on the actual day, I had a great christmas this year. For me, there’s nothing better than good food and cosy nights in. Here’s a picture of my sister and I feeling festive in our double headed christmas jumper!

Roll on 2018!
