The 2.6 Challenge

If you’re like me – currently sat at home isolating yourself from this crazy world – then you will understand that it’s the little things in life that keep us going at the moment.

A cheeky challenge can literally be the highlight of my day, so I’m excited to get involved in the following cause.

The 2.6 challenge poster - text states: "save the uk's charities"

Sunday 26th April was the scheduled date for the 2020 London Marathon – a huge event in the charity fundraising calendar.

Due to COVID-19, thousands of fundraising events across the UK have been cancelled, putting many charities in compromising positions – some also facing closure.

The 2.6 Challenge is open to anyone of any age. All you need to do is think of an activity based around the numbers 26 or 2.6.

A variety of ages- people dressed in different outfits ready for their challenge. One older man with a dumbbell weight, a man in a superhero costume, a young boy playing wheelchair basketball

This can range from baking 26 cupcakes, running 2.6 miles or doing 26 laps around your garden. The only requirement is that the activity must follow the Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing.

Once you have completed your challenge, you then pledge a donation to a charity of your choice.

For my 2.6 challenge, I wanted to choose something that was fun and a little bit creative.

So I decided to try and catch 26 Malteasers in my mouth, from a height of 2.6 meters.

You can always rely on me to get food involved!

Check out my attempt below:

I have also made a donation to two charities that are close to my heart: SMA UK and Active8.

Now it’s your turn! I nominate all of you to get involved, have some fun and most importantly – support the UK charity sector.
