The London Dungeons

If you’d have asked me a few years ago to watch a horror film or visit somewhere like the London Dungeons – I would have probably ran over your foot in disgust.

I’m not sure what has happened to me recently, or where this daredevil has come from – but I kinda like the “fear factor” feeling.

On our recent trip to London, going to the Dungeons was the number one attraction on our list of ‘touristy things to do’.

I had no idea what to expect and I was genuinely surprised at how much I loved it!

On arrival we put our hands in some unknown boxes and had to guess what was inside – for a moment I thought I was taking part in a Bushtucker Trial!

We then had some photos taken on a green-screen – I mean come on, who says no to a cheeky photo opportunity?!

I never realised how informative and interesting the attraction would be. I thought we would just be wondering around whilst people jumped out of the dark to try and frighten us.

I mean there were definitely elements of that, but there was so much more going on!

I was fascinated by the historic stories of Sweeney Todd, Henry the VIII and Guy Fawkes. I also thought the comedic acting, costume and makeup of those telling the stories were FANTASTIC!

I am giving this attraction a 4★ review. The only critique I can give was the initial struggle to get to the venue due to poor wheelchair access.

There were unnecessary steps into and around the main entrance. Once inside, I cannot fault the attraction and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

There was only one ‘ride’ I was unable to participate in, but a member of staff was always there to operate the lifts and escort me onto the next stage of the tour.

Besides the initial hiccup in finding/accessing the venue, I honestly LOVED the whole experience and would definitely recommend it to all you muggles!
